I've had this iPod for about.. three years now. It's an iPod Nano (fourth generation) and as of yesterday, it won't become detected by my computer. I've tried the following:
  1. Rebooting the iPod by holding the menu+play button simultaneously
  2. Unplugging and plugging back multiple times
  3. Uninstalling the Apple USB driver
  4. Updating iTunes
  5. Plugging it into another computer
  6. Drying the iPod with a bowl of rice
The bizarre thing is, it will be detected and charge if I press and hold the play button or the menu button on the iPod while it's connected to my PC. The iPod hasn't taken too much abuse, I'm usually careful with my electronics.

Ideas?
