I just received a Nintendo 2DS from Japan (black w/ lime trim). It looks like it has been reset, turning it on shows the first-time setup menus.
I can get through the first two (date, time), but after that I don't know what the menu is asking for.
Is there a video/guide to show what each menu is asking?
I hope to homebrew it so I can play games, the larger screen is better for my eyes than my 531V..

Well, you could get a app like google translate for a cell phone. and use that to translate each section to get to where you need.

Probably! Have you tried, y'know, looking for one?

Even if you can only find a video of setting up an English unit, you can generally expect buttons in similar positions to do similar things.

Doesn't even need to be a guide, just watch someone on Youtube setting up their 3DS for the first time on a unboxing video or something. Buttons placements should be exactly the same on both JP and EN units

Thank you all, I used these guides and had no problem putting homebrew on my 2ds as well as changing the region..!
I have several homebrew emulators working well.
Is the only way to play 3ds games to install them to internal memory?

You install 3DS games into your sd card, yes that's the only way with Luma.
