hi gbatemp members , I have been using my JFJ Easy Pro for about 1 1/2 years with excellent results. I got some Buffing pads from them earlier this year and used 2 which were fine. But when I used the next 2 I've run in to a big problem , simply I cover the whole pad in compound and run a random CD for 2 minutes. Then it's should be prepared for use , so I add 2 small pea sized blobs to each side of the pad and dab it in a bit.
What's happening is the centre of the CD is untouched and has a burn ring from being dry. The pad on inspection won't absorb the compound on the outer rim of the pad (1cm).
From a test if i fold in half the pad it is really stiff , but previous good ones are soft. It seems something has changed with the pads from the factory.
I don't know where to go from here , although I have heard of 3rd party buffing pads but don't know much more than that.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments ?
