Just purchased a PS4 on 7.55 - Where to begin?

It has a 2TB SSD hard drive installed. The firmware is on 7.55. Should I update to 9.0? I'm seeing people answer both yes and no to this question. I don't know where to start with this at all. Is there a guide somewhere? I'm aware that I should have searched and searched for answers to my questions. I appreciate anyone who helps me. I've been a longtime member of GBATEMP. @FLRIZDARKK posted a wiki that says to update to 9.0 if you're on the firmware that my console is on. I guess this is what I will do. I apologize for not searching beforehand before creating this thread. I'll follow the wiki he posted. Thanks @FLRIZDARKK

Hi, thank you for guiding your JB process based on my wiki. For anything other than 5.05 (even that arguably) 9.00 is very stable. Almost 5.05 level.

use karo exploit i rarely got kp after 1 month using 9.00, and do not use rest mode it may lead to kp sometimes, when you're done playing just turn off your ps4

For OP's sake on 7.55 true, but 6.72 now has a perfect exploit just released the other day.

• Kernel panic = a forced reboot or shutdown caused by the unsuccessful attempt to jailbreak. But in this case, is caused by some parts of the jailbreak messing up. Can be fixed tho so don't worry, i'm sure if it's a big issue, they will find a way.
