If I'm remembering what I've read correctly, it's already implemented into the payload, or hekate has it.

You only need to do that once if you had the problem before (or you run a ancient lakka version)
It's fixed for a long time by now

You can still get a tool like Fat32Formatter to format the card with fat32.

You can still format it FAT32, up to 2TB

Yeah but i have to make a switch sd card backup first which takes a long time to do and i have 4GB and larger games installed so restoring the sd card backup on a fat32 card won't work
So my best would be to get a 4gb or 8gb sd card just for lakka

I've read that games from the eShop install with 4gb chunks, and an 8gb card seems small really.
