Hey guys I repaired my friends laptop, and Asus G53SX to be specific. It needed a new DC Jack so I disassembled, desoldered, cleaned contacts, then resoldered. Routine stuff. But after I put it back together it had trouble connecting to wireless networks. Specifically that it would read them as far away/low connectivity despite being 3 feet away from the router. It isn't a router issue as other wireless devices were fine, and after he left I realized it couldve been that one of the 2 antenna (black and white) could've been disconnected from the wifi card? I'm not familiar with the issue so I'm not entirely sure if thats a valid result of the issue or if it would be a bum wifi card altogether. Any thoughts?

A disconnected antenna could cause the issues you've described. If you have access to the laptop, that's easy enough to check.

It is also possible for the WiFi miniCard to be on the way out (I've seen it a lot). Replacing one is pretty straightforward.
