Hey,

I recently tried to repair my old 3DS by purchasing a replacement top screen online. Before getting the screen, my 3DS was turning itself off, but no popping sound was present. Upon taking it apart, I noticed that the ribbon cable from both speakers to the main motherboard was broken, and the LCD screen ribbon cable was also broken. I ordered a new screen, but did not get replacement speakers, as I have a pair of headphones that I can use. When I connected the new screen, the symptoms were still showing. Do I need to have the speakers in to have the top screen work? Also, I know that the two small LCD screen ribbon cables go to the speaker assembly, but what do they do specifically? If you need any clarification, feel free to ask more questions.

Thank you for the help.

Please Note: I never ran CFW or shenanigans on my older 3ds, so this is purely a hardware problem.
