Hi, I completely hate it when people are lisping this makes me angry (no idea why) and I noticed that even "professional" voice actors or at least some people who are doing voice acting seem to do it ...

I remember one of the tales of games (nor sure if it was berseria) where the main heroine was lisping in english that sometimes I just had to turn off the sound -.-

and now I downloaded the Shining Resonance demo from the eshop and say what, that dragoneer girl is lisping to so badly that I am not sure if I should play that game or not -.-V
It could be a game that I might enjoy but it sounds so awfull and makes me agressiv (again, not sure why) that I am hesitant :/

Is it getting normal? if even more and more voice actors and even normal actors (don't know any example right know except for a german news moderator) are speaking like that?
why is it that more and more people seem to be unable to speak properly ?

(have to admit that after doing more practice speaking Japanese, some frienda told me my S sometimes sounds a little bit strange too but I tried my best to change it back asap)

Lithping ith a therious ithue, you athhole.

Seriously, do you think people consciously choose to speak like that? If it makes you angry, please be a good example to others and work on that. It should be easier than it is for lisping people to work on their lisping.

but why do companies need to hire people for a speaking job when they can clearly not speak ?

I know it is supposed to be some kond of illness but it is possible to work against this (knew several people when I eas young that were lisping or stuttering but it could be fixed ... at least if you tried)
And doing voice acting for money when you have an "illness" like that is like saying "i will fix your computer as an it specialist and take 100$" but in the end the pc is worse than before because thst specialidt has never seen a pc in his life before xD

When I pay hard earn money for a game or movie or whatever I pay for the voice acting as well and if this sucks so bad I feel ripped of, thats the same as getting a game with an incredible ammount of bugs

I have to agree that lisping is annoying.
However, there are far more annoying things then lisping.
Cockney for example ;o;

Nah, Like Axido said, people that lisp can't help it.
However voice actors in games.. yeh I can see the point of it being incredibly annoying.
I have the same feeling whenever Wade (GTA V, the juggalo, Trevor his friend) is speaking.

While I agree it is a suspect choice it also a shorthand for certain character traits*. Alas I have not played any of the games mentioned to see if they line up.

*a lot of speech impediments end up as shorthand for certain traits. Not sure where it comes from but it is a thing.
Better have a video of passing relevance

You mean this character?
340

If so, I'd bet money that the lisping was intentional.

yeah in this comedy aspect it was supposed to be fun (even though nowadays there might be people complaining if you make fun of an "illness")

But if you have News reporter in TV or "normal" characters in a game that are not supposed to be some kind of joke ...

those people get paid money, money that is generates trough us buying the product or watching the commercials or whatever and I just can't understand how people can not notice or not care.

It honestly doesn't bother me really. I have a son with a speech impediment, so I suppose it's just a daily thing for me. At the most I sometimes find it adorable, but never annoying. Maybe funny as shown above.
