Hi,

So I picked up the ez flash omega and so far I’ve had no issue. I have booted up Metroid zero mission dom from two different sources and when I save state then give it a 10sec wait I get a ringing noise when the game reloads.

Savestates in hardware is always tricky (some areas are write only, timings and other setups are not always going to play nicely), odd noises and graphical corruption being the main two things.
Usual fix outside of playing big boy hacker is see if you can force a refresh of that element (new room/area, go to menu) in addition to trying it in different areas (sometimes finding an area where there is a lack of action, or menus again).

It’s so weird how it’s not all my games. I did think it was the rom but getting another version and it doing the same just further shows there is an issue

I would say quite the opposite. That it is individual games speaks to the quirks of individual code and less than complete/time synced restoration of things (you control everything in an emulator, less so operating within the software level of hardware*).

*debug levels of hardware access might change this, and there is that weird TV out option for the gameboy that does a kind of guided emulation, and better flash cart savestates might either hack the individual game to restore a better state, be more robust in code, or have the write only stuff also write to a readable area to in turn restore that via other means later)

@K3Nv2 that's crazily expensive. how long will that take to pay off?

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
i would think the population knows better but with food deserts and abject poverty, sometimes a poptart gonna have to do.

As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy

@Sicklyboy I agree, but also it's about self control and realistic thinking. We wouldn't feed a dog soda, so why feed it to ourselves? Eating unhealthy food because it's cheap is one thing, but I'm sure you know people who drink soda routinely when they should be drinking water which is free.
I get it can feel mean to say "no treat sweet beverage for you anymore" but for many people it's just in their way of life.
