i missed a section in ctrtranfer.
Or maybe not. I'm so confused now.
I think there's less steps there but if click the follow 9.2.0 ctrtransfer link on step 5 of restoring system it takes u to a dif ctrtransfer with steps that weren't on the previous page.
This is my 8th3ds I've done and I feel so stupid and hoping I didn't screw myself

Guide has changed alittle every time just
Alittle

Here's my problem I did do ctrtransfer with LURU A button combo and made nand.min backup and I had put the 3ds down and waited till it was done I'm guessing after it was done making nand backup it did ctrtransfer too. Anyway I had pressed B when that step was done
I did as guide said and continued to install arm9loaderhax. Put all the files on mcsd and went to the new updated address http://2xrsa.3ds.guide
Went fine. I pressed select for full install
Then went on to next part configuring luma. I checked the 3 boxes and new 3ds clock+L2 box. I pressed start to save and reboot. I got the failed to mount ctrnand as I did on the 7 other 3ds I did.
Now onto restoring. It says to boot device while holding start to enter luma chainloader menu. When I do that I get the an error occurred : failed to mount CTRNAND press any button to shut down.
I'm lost from here a few steps lower under number 5 there's a if get black screen follow ctrtranfer but those steps are completely dif then new guide steps but look like we're in the guide the other times I installed on other 3ds
As writing this I put God mode and decrypt 9 on and I pressed X on boot and I'm in decrypt 9 now. Not really sure what to do from here. Do I just restore my nand backup?

Yes.

You got the "failed to mount CTRNAND" error because you didn't load Hourglass9 (Luma3DS can't boot into 2.1.0 iirc). You do not need to do a 9.2.0 ctrtransfer if you have your original NAND backup; just restore that backup with "keep A9LH".

Thanks. I'm restoring now with keeping a9lh now
So after that I just go to injecting FBI step and I should be back on track? I can just do x on start up again and do the FBI install from decrypt 9 instead of hourglass

Yes, that's right.

Follow the guide to the letter. If it says to do it through Hourglass9, then do it through Hourglass9.

thanks for your help. I was able to just finish the rest in decrypt 9. I was somewhat familiar with it from past installs. I thought I followed the guide exact. I do have hourglass9 on card in luma payloads folder. Even after I restored nand in decrypt9 I tried to do as guide said and booted holding start and it just went to home menu so I decided to just reboot with x and use decrypt 9.
Once again thanks for late night quick help
I was pretty sure I did everything exact so I was thrown off and was second guessing myself when I got stuck at that screen and didn't want to end up with a brick. I appreciate it

Edit. In guide it doesn't say rename hourglass9 to start_hourglass9

No problem at all. Glad to hear that everything worked out.

Yeah, a new update of Luma now has a chainload menu when you hold start on boot that brings up payloads like hourglass9 to choose from (as opposed to holding down a different button for each different payload), and the guide has been updated to reflect this. You could've renamed it to y_hourglass9.bin or something, but if Decrypt9 got the job done, then it got the job done.

Is the "Luma 6.6" release on GitHub (where the guide links) actually a newer build than 6.6? Because 6.6 is still the latest release on GitHub and it didn't have that payload menu.

OP: Hourglass9 is basically a safer, slightly stripped down version of Decrypt9. With Decrypt9, for instance, you can restore a NAND in such a way that it removes A9LH. Hourglass9 does not allow this.

I'm currently using the hourly 6.6-f03e232b (not the latest hourly) and it has the chainload menu. I don't know if the 6.6 that the guide links to has it, but you think it would, considering the guide references the menu.

Section IV - Restoring the System
  1. Boot your device while holding (Start) to enter the Luma3DS chainloader menu
  2. Hover over Hourglass9, then press (A) to launch it

It was added in a commit after 6.6 was released. The guide didn't reference it until recently as far as I am aware.

Yeah, I just confirmed for myself that the 6.6 doesn't have the menu. Strange that the guide would reference it; I'm sure that it'll cause some confusion until the link for Luma is updated or Luma is given a new latest release.

Me and wifey was deciding on our next vacation, so I hung up a map on the wall, and give her a dart and said, wherever you hit, we will go. She threw the dart and it missed the map completely and fell into a trash can below on floor. So I said "ok Florida it is."
