There is of course no way to verify the select screen at this time. If you're working on the assumption that it is real, though, or even if you only want it to be real, here are the characters listed as they appear in the image above:

Scorpion - Liu Kang - Kung Lao - Sub-Zero

Sindel - Ermac - Reptile - Kitana

Johnny Cage - Jade - Mileena - Nightwolf

Cyrax - Noob Saibot - Smoke - Sektor

Sonya - Jax - Kano - Stryker

Shang Tsung - Baraka - Kabal - Raiden

Extras/DLC - Sheeva - Quan Chi - Extras/DLC

Presumably one of those "Extras" spots is where Kratos, who is exclusive to the PS3 version of the game, will end up.[/p]

Again, this is an unverified leak so there's always a chance it is not legit.
However, a point made by a Kotaku reader, is that Smoke.. with an afro?

The italics in the article (or "box" @ Kotaku) is the labelling of all the characters. According to that, it's Smoke.

Err they could be wrong? lol
But other than that no one else really looks to be Smoke.

Did you not read? Those cyber sub zero slots are for DLCs/extras such as Kratos for ps3. Way to assume things.

I was talking about sub-zero (young sub-zero), noob saibot (older sub-zero killed by scorpion, who returns as a wraith), and cyborg sub-zero (young sub-zero turned cyborg from an alternate timeline)

Kintaro, Goro, and Shao Khan is most likely playable based on the speculations and leaks from the hacks. Well, Kintaro has already been confirmed playable.

And Kintaro's redesign is horrible. He looks like an innocent, but huge, kitten with 4 arms. Who would wanna do a fatality on that thing?
