I’ve kinda debated to myself whether or not I wanted to share my music or not, but I’d like more people to hear it and give their thoughts, so here you go.

I’d say probably Polygon Plumber, Ghost Trip or Anyone Within 65 ft.

The low end needs a bit of work, maybe dial up the kick next time. Nice progression. Bizarre collage of Mario 64 SFX.


This one is more atmospheric.


I don't know what to say.

They are functional enough to be clearly recognized as electronic beats. They are bizarre and weird but not in a hilariously grotesque kind of way, for that there are a bit too functional. It sets a club mood that is quite odd.

Here’s the best way I can explain it.

Most of the songs in Multiplayer were made with a specific thought process behind them. These are generally ideas that revolve around expansion and/or figuration of the games the samples originate from.

But I suppose it’s also largely about temporarily changing the listeners perception of the games, and associating them with bizarre, industrial sounds.

As of right now, I’m in the early stages of working on a second dotZIP album. The approach for Multiplayer that I described above will be in the second album, but to a bit of a lesser extent, and will instead primarily focus on much broader sampling, and what I mean by that is that instead of using a couple samples from one specific game, I’ll also be sampling gaming press conferences, YouTube videos, etc.

I see. It is a unique approach I have not heard anything like this before. At first I thought it was ment to be funny. It is bizarre but not for the sake of bizarreness. I'm interested to here where you will take things from here.

Honestly, I’m not really the kind of person to give music advice lol.

One thing I can say though is that I took heavy inspiration from experimental groups like Death Grips.

What would you call the style/genre you have invented here?

I don’t really think I “invented” a music style in dotZIP.
