seriously though, does this mean we can no longer talk about nds-card because it has a link to that website? (or maybe gbatemp is slowly crawling into being an awesome "chaotic paradise" website like before?)

in other news, it seems now they "officially" support paypal which is great and maybe this means nintendo stopped hammering theese shops?

Well, I don't think it falls under that rule. Considering it's not DIRECTLY linking you to it. Because we indirectly refer to that website or those types of websites all the time.

I've actually talked to the staff about this and there's really not much they can do. They can't tell NDS-Card who they can and can't support, nor can they afford to cut ties with them. NDS-Card provides a quite a lot of support for the Temp and cutting them off would be a huge blow to the site.
I would also like to mention that they've had those sites for a rather long time now. I actually noticed them last year.

i say to embrace it... i understand gbatemp staff don't want to risk and blow up this website because "connections to piracy"
but heh... we don't share roms or stuff, as long as we are not a rom storage website, i don't think there is a problem

It's nds-card owner site and he can do whatever he wants. Like, Costello has the right to ban us because it's his own forum/site. You can't force him (the owner) to do something that would ruin reputation for both sites /thread

NDS-Card really isn't affiliated with us beyond giving the site ad revenue. They don't run on Temp servers nor are they part of the Temp family (GBATemp/Filetrip.) They are simply someone who gives us money to put ads for them on our site.
This is one of those situations where there's not much that can be done other than reaffirm our stance on piracy on the Temp itself.

Just food for thought; You know Video Game creators hate flash card selling companies WAY worse than community forums such as chaos..
We've seen it time and time again because these companies SELL flash cards.. It's direct profiting against the game creators directly.

So here is the question I beacon you to consider.
Wouldn't it be worse for gbatemp to link to a site that is a store who sells devices (Flash cards) that directly IS piracy.
or
A forum, that is a community, who has a wide range of topics discussed on it and is all user submitted content? and sells nothing to profit btw? and will be DMCA compliant if they are legitimate notices?

I honestly expect this thread to be deleted after it pops back up due to it questions the relation between nds-card and gbatemp more so than chaos with nds-card.
Me? I don't mind the connections. The banner doesn't effect or connect to gbatemp.


Last statement; NDS-card is nothing more than a store selling piracy enabling devices (flash cards) for profit. Just that simple; it's their business. Hence why they see it profitable to pay for the lovely ad we see

Just seems hypocritical to throw rocks at chaos, and not also nds-card for the same argument
