Hacking NDS flashcart working on fw 9.4

Every, meaning ALL R4 cards, are a clone of some other card. Actually, I should say a cheap clone of some other card. Cheap because in every version their attempts at copying the features of the card that they attempted to clone was done half assed and never actually worked as seamlessly as on the original cards. I have an original R4 which was a simple ds card with basic features that worked "ok". Supercard, EZFlash, M3, and Acekard were the original and most "professionally" done cards. All the others were basically a clone of one of these. Unfortunately Supercard (DSTWO) is the only one still able to work on newer firmwares but, it is easily the most feature packed or in other words the most bang for your buck. Never say you are not interested in all of the extra features like emulators. There were tons of GBA games that are worth a go even if you never make it completely through one. It's nice to have the ability to be able to do something and choose not to do it rather than have a desire to do it and not have the ability!

They may be clones, but they do what needs to get done.

Pick any one of those and it will work (provided the flashcart is updated).

I recommend the dstwo, because it's the best. Though if you honestly do not care about gba/snes/videos, then the r4ithings will work just as well.

Basically, Supercard DSTwo is the best current flashcart and R4i Gold 3DS RTS is the best one out of all the R4 clones. The one you are asking about (R4i SDHC) is not something I would recommend, but if that is all you can find, it should work too.

The rumor is, Supercard will soon release a card that will run 3ds and ds roms from the same card. Instead of buying an r4, I would wait a bit to see if the rumor is true. If I did not already have a dstwo, this is what I would do.

We gave you the best 2 options:

1) the dstwo, its a bit more expensive but a bit better

2) r4i gold 3DS gets the job done and is cheaper

Now just go and choose whichever one you want.

the sky3DS would be an ok alternative if it was so damn expensive. I'd get one if I didn't have a gateway, couldn't wait a few days for the update's release and if it was $35-40.

That's a good deal. I would've bought it at that price, too, if the update wasn't being released so soon.

Stick with the cheaper card, the r4i gold 3DS.

R4 isn't shitty, it's the best option for what he needs, as he's not interested in emulation. It's cheap, works flawlessly with NDS roms, and is compatible with 9.4. I have an R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS, but basically any R4 clone from the compatible list someone listed above will work.

It supports it, and it runs most SNES and NES games well, but it has difficulty with gba games.
