Is there a way to play it on a 3ds with a custom firmware or with a flashcard? I have the old NDS flashcard

but to answer your question yes its possible ndsbootstrap handles most .nds games very well and there are homebrew apps to allow you to boot most flashcards (even ones blocked by default)
