Homebrew Need to update al9h on my n3dsxl, need some assistance...

Hi all,
I have a n3dsxl that had al9h installed back when it was released. I would like to update it so that it doesn't have to require a microsd for the n3dsxl to boot, how do I update it using plailect's guide? There are a lot of inconsistencies with that guide with what files/folders it assumes I should have in my microsd already so I'm kinda hesitant performing the update. Actually, I can't even perform Section II where it says to hold dpad down to update al9h, I can only access the Decrypt9/EmuNAND9 if I hold either X/Y on the system)

Yeah, I did try to follow that but I'm already stuck on Section II where holding dpad down doesn't do anything.

Did you

1. Copy arm9loaderhax.bin from the SafeA9LHInstaller .zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card
2. Rename arm9loaderhax.bin in /luma/payloads/ to down_safea9lhinstaller.bin
