Dearest Anjiera and everyone who joined their hands together on this project to see it come to life,
HUGE THANK YOU!
I have been following this project's status for years, always wishing to see the day that I could play this gem on my DS. No words can express the gratitude I felt when you have finally released the patch.
Now, things weren't going so smoothly when I tried to apply it, as I was getting the (error -4) messages constantly. So I decided to write down what I did in order for it to work.
I am using a very old R4 card (R4 Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS)), with a 1.0GB micro SD card:
The YSMENU fix did not work for me, so I have tried the following, which eventually worked:
1. Formatted my SD card using the maximal block size, as suggested by Anjiera on page 63.
2. Downloaded the most recent kernel files for my card, from old.r4wood website.
3. AP patched the Japanese rom using DS_SCENE ROM TOOL
4. Applied the ARM7 patch to the rom.
5. Run the game through the original kernel.
Everything works, from saving to sleep mode. No problems so far!
I hope that this will be useful to some of you guys, the same way I was trying the other methods suggested on this thread.
As a side note, I always felt grumpy that this title was not officially released on the DS or even the 3DS. I bought the PS3 version and started playing it, but it just doesn't have the same charming effects of the handheld. I even bought the English spellbook in hope that I will use it when I play the patched DS version
So, again, thank you for everyone involved in this project who made it possible!
