Thank you Linuxares for deleting my test post. I didn't make the rules so... go figure...
For others coming across this post, Checkpoint generates the sav files (6 folders according to each save slot) and any of these can be edited on the Marc Robledo online editor (do a web search) then saved back onto the original Checkpoint folder where it came from, and then restored using Checkpoint again. Assuming one was using the right user to back up and same user to restore, and not using applet mode, it works very well. Bear in mind that one should not use values outside of normal game range, for example, I think the maximum of spirit orbs is 124 so, if one enters 999, it crashes.
