you can see all commits here : https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/commits/master

Changelog of the latest release :

and by reading NintendontVersion.h, you can find the version of the loader.

In the latest commit :

#define NIN_MAJOR_VERSION 5
-#define NIN_MINOR_VERSION 481
+#define NIN_MINOR_VERSION 482

So this is actually version 5.482

;)

Got it...

Thank you very much!

PS: would be good to upload the meta.xml with this info.

Thanks!

This isnt directly related with Nintendont, but is there any way to have the Wii harddrive and the WiiU harddrive in the WiiU at the same time without any issues? Most of the posts i read about this are quite old.

I think there are issues doing this. the wii u will try to format the entire drive. however, there's a mocha build that can be formatted to fat 32, but it's a pita to use. you need a wii u hdd in the first place, so it's pretty useless to do it this way.

Run the latest version of Nintendont and then look at the meta.xml. I'm pretty sure fix94 said the file gets updated automatically when the homebrew boots and that's why they don't bother with updating it

If I use Nintendon't on an original Wii (With the Gamecube Stuff), Can I use the GC to GBA Cable on it?

Also, does Nintendon't use real GC Memory Cards?

Next question. Can I use games from multiple regions on 1 memory card? Or do I need a memory card for each region?
there are 2 types of memory card formatting, one for japanese titles and one for non-japanese titles, so you will need at least 2 memory cards if you plan to play both types of games as they are not compatible with each other.

Didn't even see that on. I don't know why no one has made Nintendont automatically turn it off when it detects a Wii U. Hey @FIX94, calling you.
did not know that this would happen either, totally overlooked it, well now in the latest version it wont have any effect on wiiu anymore.

It's ok, I like using my old memory cards.

Next question. Can I use games from multiple regions on 1 memory card? Or do I need a memory card for each region?
You wanna hear my woeful tale of trying to play a Japanese game with an American memory card? I lost a bunch of save files thanks to that. Now I use individual emulated memory cards per game so I don't have to worry about that again.

way back with I think like neogamma (remember that?) I did exactly the same with my biggest memory card, I thought it asked if I wanted to create a save file but turns out it asked me to reformat the card instead, whoops :P

I don't think so... And neither with the injeciton nor the dol itself from the Homebrew Channel in vWii mode.

The XML file gets updated automatically on your SD card once you run Nintendont once.
this after you run a agme the xnl gets updated to the version number that said the game, that is why its not worth updating since nintendont does it automaticaly.

How do I change the mapping of the inputs on the Wii U gamepad (I'm using Nintendont+Forwarder), or any other controller, for that matter? The part of the OP that says
Read the Controller > HID-USB > Custom mapping chapter to learn how to create your own controller.ini file.
doesn't lead anywhere. Was that chapter deleted? What do I do? I can't seem to find any .ini files anywhere on my SD card, or does Nintendont share the controllers folder with HID to VPAD?

no that is only for hid controller on nintendont, wiiu gamepad is not an hid controller at all so the only way to change the buttons is press minus to rotste the 4 buttons once or recompile nintendont again.

hid2vpad does no weork on wiivc stuff since they run on vwii not wiiu so hid to vpad is wiped out when running.

Hello,
I was trying to play same gamecube games with cfg70r78.11 on my wiiu, but I run into the following error:
"error the drive or partition usb:/ is not connected"
The external HDD is NTFS formatted and there is only one partiotion on the drive. The iso file is in the games folder, in a folder with its title, renamed to game.iso and cfg70r78.11 can recognize it fine.
I chose Nintendont in cfg70r78.11 as boot method. Nintendont is located at SD:/apps/Nintendont/boot.dol
Wii games are loading fine.
Any idea how I could solve this issue?

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
