So put one. Thats why i added CUSTOM RENAME support.

In the options tick "Use Custom Method" and enter this into the box next to it
%# - %N (%CC) (%DG)
That will make Nintenren rename your roms like this...
1423 - Disney's Magical Quest 3 - Starring Mickey & Donald (E) (Rising Sun).zip

Wow, great programs!

I extracted some rom files with the NDS Header Tool, it was very simple and fast.

Too bad there isn't a program to play the video and music files

Hope somebody does one day make a program that could play those files. It would be great to listen to those *small* high quality DS music files on my PC

I've found a couple of bugs already.
-For some reason it won't delete duplicate ROMs.
-Also, I'm not too sure, but I don't think it's moving my unknown ROMs either.
-In the GBC renamer it appends (%EI) to the end of all my files (where the extra information should be).
EDIT: My mistake, GBC roms don't even HAVE extra info >_<

Lastly, is there any way to view the files extracted with NDS Header tool? I tried loading one up in a tile editor but didn't find much (I guess you know something about this as you can extract the icon as a PNG). Oh, one bug with this as well. When you extract files from the rom, if the directories aren't already there, it won't work and will give an error. (eg. pic\backgrounds\)

-It deleted my duplicate roms when i just tried. It won't delete them if they're in the same directory as the 'Renamed Roms' however, or a subdirectory of it, for safety's sake. GBA-Renamer had a nice habit of duping every rom and deleting them if you scanned the 'Renamed Roms' directory by accident.
-Unknown roms don't move though, you are indeed correct. I added a piece of code into the renaming process and it seems to have totally voided any chance of it finding an unknown rom. I'll fix this as soon as possible.
-You put that in there, there is no extra info for the gbc set

The only reason i can extract the icons from the rom file is because i worked on a similar piece of code for my unreleased NGC iso header viewer. I can't do anything with the files inside the roms, that isn't really my department, sorry. The code is all in place and has been tested by myself and others to make sure it creates the directories before attempting to write to them. If anyone else is having this problem i'd love to know cause this is the only time i've heard of it.

It works fine for extracting ROM contents, but not individual files.

Yeah those duplicates were in a subfolder

Could there not be some option to turn this "protection" off?

I'll look into the header tool problem although i'm fairly sure i tested that part too. As for the protection... if you disable it and it wipes out all your roms... are you really gonna thank me for it?

Couldn't you just move the dupes out before scanning, and consider that the "protection disabler" lol

Edit: Turns out i fudged up the single file extraction from the roms in the header viewer, like i said, it was prelimiary

Oh, I just thought of something to improve the header tool. Being able to choose to save the icon as either transparent or not instead of saving both.

Thanks for the replies everyone, i've been fixing up the programs as best i can and i'm still working out a few of the bugs people have reported to me. My header viewer was updated to v1.4 yesterday and Nintenren v1.2 should be coming some time this weekend...
