For strategic purposes having this item list appear on the side of the screen is very useful but it seems that while MK8-Deluxe will improve where it needed to, it'll be leaving out the item list. On the WiiU version it wasn't placed very conveniently but at least it was there.
This is based on the demo build of Mario Kart 8: Deluxe they've been letting fans play so if the list was there, we'd be able to see or activate it. I guess they might have left it out so the screen wouldn't be too filled up with info everywhere.
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is irresistibly an amazing game and how it should have been on the WiiU but eh, better late than never.
