1. i've installed metal slug wad file to my wii. when i run it, i get no signal error on my tv but pressing home button shows me the game menu. how can i solve this.
Sounds like the game uses standard resolution non-interlaced mode and your display (or video converter - they generally aren't worth it except as a last resort if you don't have the right video inputs) doesn't support it, you may be able to force interlaced mode with a button combo: https://en-americas-support.nintend...-problems-while-playing-virtual-console-games

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just a quick question. Are the DNS blocker servers working still on the wiiU ?. Is it safe just to use normal DNS now and allow games to be updated as normal ? I think minecraft has an online update due out very soon.
This is the Wii section but the answers that were true two years ago still apply: you can check DNS at loadiine.ovh, it's always been safe to not block updates with regard to brick risk, you can use NNU Patcher to temporarily disable custom DNS

I have a Wii that I was recently given. It is a 4.1u, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to update it to 4.3u to run homebrew. Any and all help would be appreciated.

So, I will probably buy a Wii, it's a Japanese one and it already have Homebrew channel, but the owner doesn't really know what else the console has.

Is there any way to verify if the console has Bootmii and Priiloader before I think about changing it's region and doing more dangerously stuff?

I've tried to update it normally, but that doesn't work. It gives me error code 32004. I have it conneted to the wifi, and the wii is next to the modem.

Use modmii to re-mod the wii as if it's a virgin console. Then upon completion, you can weigh the risks of region changing (and use Modmii's region changing wizard for that)

Edit: it's funny, you'd think I was talking about something else entirely if all you heard was "upon completion" and "virgin", lol

I didn't even know that was an option. What discs work? Sorry completely new to modding wii.

Well, I'm from Spain so I have no idea if both PAL and NTSC versions of the games (first for Europe, second for America) have updates, but I can tell you to try with The Legendof Zelda: Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pandora's Tower, Mario Party 9 and Donkey Kong Country Returns. These are several of the games that at least here in Europe contains a 4.3 update. I've read that Super Mario Galaxy 2 also has it.

Specifically, these games have a 4.3 Version 2 (which also had a patch for the Wii Shop besides the 4.3 update itself).

I have Skyward Sword, and I tried to update it by putting it in. It goes a little way in, then it just says that the update failed.

First: I need to know if I could potentially brick this Wii
Second: Do I even need to update it?
Third: What the hell is most of the things installed?

I've bought an used Wii, the system menu is 4.1U, however the bottom of the wii(where's theres the serial number and stuff) seems to indicate that its actually a Japanese Wii

On the Homebrew Channel I've found the following apps(what do you call it?)
-Multi-Mod Manager 13.4
-WiiFlow
-Configurable USB Loader
-IOS236 Installer v5 MOD
-Priiloader 236 Mod
-Simple IOS Patcher 1.14
-Wii Browser
-WiiMC Channel Installer
-HackMii_Installer

The Wii crashes when I open the SD Card (probably a bad SD card, I will change it), I've opened the SD Card on a PC and found a folder called "bootmii"(So that's probably installed, but I thought it was supposed to show up on Homebrew Channel), there's a Nand folder, but its only 4,00 MB.

The interesting one is a folder called WAD, inside it there's the following files, oldest (2010) to newest (2013):

I know the answer is probably "blablabla ModMii", but this is the first Wii I actually use, I don't really know my chances of bricking it.

tl;dr: (Probable) Japanese Wii with 4.1u and bunch of old IOS, how do update no brick?//??????

Guys help please. I want to install SNEEK on my jpWii.
I used Modmii sneek option. but:
-which neek2o version should i choose?
-there's an option to choose stuff to install in emulated nand, such as postloader, wiiflow, custom folder of wads etc. should i install all of them? and why there's 2 usb loader?
-where should I put all these files and folders, assuming that I choose SNEEK+dl
-and lastly, how to boot this thing.

I suggest the latest version of uneek2o, but pick whatever option makes sense for you, the pros and cons are listed on ModMii's set up screens

U can always add or remove things from your nand later using ModMii or showmiiwads/showmiinand, so add things, don't add things, no biggie either way

ModMii will put all the files in the correct folder structure - the locations vary based on your selected configuration. The final screen when modmii is done should tell u how to boot it. In this case it will either be using nswitch or to launch "bootmii" from the homebrew channel (or priiloader, etc.)

I've heard there's some stuff to prevent BannerBrick and also some IOS or something that are necessary for certain applications, I think Nintendon't is one of those.

But I clearly have no idea what the hell I'm doing, so if you say so...
