Why bother with XCI if you can have a 200+GB NAND on your SD?
Sorry, im not installing anything on my Switch, not even on EmuNAND, XCI all the way.
Why bother with XCI if you can have a 200+GB NAND on your SD?
nogc patches will need slight adjustments, but it's trivial to add themNice work! One question, but does this offer any solution to avoid the "game card" update that is on firmware 4.0.0 and higher, for those who have their system NAND on 3.0.2 or lower? I was just curious, as I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere when it comes to development of emulated NAND. If it doesn't offer a solution at this time, is it possible that a solution could be available in the future?

You basically have a choice whether you want carts to work on your <4.x sysnand or on your updated emunand. If the former, use nogc patches, if the latter, don't. Latter option isn't currently reversible tho so be certain. (When I say currently, I'm not implying it will be reversible in the future, I don't know either way if that will ever happen)Thanks for the response!
Sorry though, but I didn't really word my previous post correctly. What I was trying to ask is if emulated NAND will make it possible to run, for example, a game card of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate (which requires 5.1.0) on a Switch that has a system NAND on 3.0.2 or lower, or is this still a no-go? Thanks again!
EmueMMC, or EmuNAND for lay people, is booting the eMMC/NAND from an external storage device such as an SD card or potentially a USB drive instead of the console's own internal memory. It has nothing to do with a coldboot exploit although the current exploit we have for the Switch is a coldboot-based hack.Pardon my ignorance, is it like a Coldboot?
No need to jerk off the SX OS developers mate.So.. if atmosphere gets emunand ( something almost all people said nobody wants ) then it means the end of sxos...
so atmosphere was dead all this while and still is till they do emunand support ?
People need to realize what they say can be used both ways..
Dunno why these people talk shit about something they dont even use.. does it make your use of atmosphere better ?
The greatest thing about all this is that 80 % of atmosphere users use signature patches.. hypocrites i say.
Just a little theory crafting.
200+ GB Nand would be detect and defeatable in future firmwares (prompting a "race").
It should still be possible to leave Nand of emummc to default size and install games on the sdcard "the nintendo way" correct?
Only thing you'd loose though would be faster loading speeds (thanks to the newly written driver).
Correct?
How likely would be a "people cant have a 200+ GB Nand race in the future do you think? edit: Maybe a silly question, since they also could bake in load time checks, and do something if load times become too quick.
