I want v9 but I don't want the official names...what should I do

Schlupi, you should list "Tanuken" as the author on your mirror to prevent confusion with Koolayde's translation.

I just copied the new version over my old v7, no problems.

(You patch the original, clean image with your new patch)

Backup your old save to your Lappy, just in case.

its simple. just patch the rom. then make sure that the rom is the same name as the .sav file.

Yeah, just tested and the save works, although all caught pokemon still have their old Jap names.
They appear ok in Pokedex though

I click "apply patch" in xDelta GUI and it says it cannot find the xdelta.exe file, when it's clearly there in the same folder. Should I just click "continue" or is there another way?

Use the alternate patcher available for download I tried it and Applies AP patch and english translation. Great work on this loving it (still plan to buy it when it comes out

the lastest patch make my game Freeze very often

could it be because the .SAV had english names and I accidentally took japanese names this time ??

Sounds like the Anti-Piracy kicking in. You have to re-apply Anti-Anti-Piracy for whatever card you have. (get latest firmware or rudolph's patch).

V9. That's normal, caught japanese pokemon names are saved to your save file and aren't changed by an updated rom version. Perfectly compatible.

Sounds like the Anti-Piracy kicking in. You have to re-apply Anti-Anti-Piracy for whatever card you have. (get latest firmware or rudolph's patch).

It loads when I use AKAIO 1.8 but it freezes and when I use AKAIO 1.8.5 the game just won't load (stuck on Loading screen)

Well it translates more, but for now it's main purpose is to insert the official localized names (Tsutarja -> Snivy, Isshu->Unova). Because of this I'm sticking with v7.

That v9 isn't Koolayde's patch. That's a patch made by some ROM forum member known as "Tanuken" (can't link to the forum as there are ROM downloads there, which are against 'Temp rules). As of now, Koolayde's still at v8, working hard to translate lots of data (last I heard, he was translating a 500-line file).
