It can be freely forked BTW. A bunch of projects do so - OSMC, OpenELEC among others.I have not read their licens/term stuff, Reading stuff like that usually bores me to death.
But let's say that they write there that anyone is allowed to read their code but not allowed to share forks of their software.
Then that makes it illegal to share a port of it.
Im just asking in case anyone knows for sure.

Oh so someone is already working on it then Cool!
And so is Plex.spmc, mr.mc etc. are all forks of kodi
