Can't Reproduce Posting Restriction?

Is there a new system in place or something? I'd try and post and it would say something like wait 180 seconds until you can post again.

While 180 seconds might be a bit excessive, I could understand a 20-30 second timeout to prevent accidental double posts.

Haven't noticed that on here but I have noticed it on several other forums and while it is an annoyance it does help to limit spam.
I often post several posts within 30 seconds of eachother though and have never gotten that error.

I've never seen what the big deal is with double posting. So long as they aren't doing it just for the sake of a bump or something like that, so what?

That said, I do try to conform to the rules of places like here where it's frowned upon, but other places I go people do it and no one cares. Literally only a problem for sake of being a problem.
