it lists rebuild game list postloader wbfs and another that says neek2o official mode on the gamecube page. I'm ready to feel like a moron now...

Hi stfour, maybe I'm not understanding how to launch VC/WiiWare correctly from postloader but I have a problem. Steps to to reproduce problem:
1. Turn on Wii, Priibooter Gui starts, push a button, choose postloader and press start (Have it saved to System Menu).
2. Push → on the D-Pad it goes to neek2o NAND USB://nands/WiiWare
3. Choose any WiiWare title and Postloader code dumps.

Should the nand be a uneek NAND in order to launch WW/VC from within PostLoader on real NAND? Here is the ploader.log

Probably something I set up improperly, or I'm under the impression I can launch neek2o nand titles from real nand, when that is wrong.

Also I don't see any errors on the ploader.log file and if I start the WiiWare NAND through neek2o channel which has neekbooter installed, postloader launches all WiiWare I've tested quickly and with no issues.

Unless there is another way, you need to build a nand called pln2o and put it in the nands* folder.
Then when you choose a wiiware/vc, hit B first to set the boot method to neek2o in the gui options.

*the readmii says Nand, not nands, i think it may be a typo.

from the readmii:
Running vc/wiiware from realnand via neek2o
========================================

* Use modmii to create a fresh nand. Install only priiloader (required) and if you wish postloader channel. Do not add anything more if you want a fast to boot nand
* name this nand pln2o and put in usb://Nand/pln2o
* Start that nand, configure it (also the network). Install the new neekbooter (required) in priiloader and make priiloader autoboot it (you can use postloader to do that [home]->System options->Install neekbooter.dol in priiloader, when you running in neek2o/pln2o nand)
* postLoader will automatically copy (only one time) your vc/wiiware to pln2o nand and execute it.
* This is a great workaround for WFC games and games that doens't work in d2x emulation

I'm sorry I don't quite get the way he worded it. I thought that feature is used to launch WW/VC installed on your real nand if you're in your neek2o emulated nand, hmm but of course that wouldn't make much sense lol.

Ok so I'm still going to keep my neek2o WiiWare NAND -- setup the pln2o NAND according to readmii -- while in PL3 on real NAND I go to launch any game on my WiiWare NAND but instead I would push B and set boot method to neek2o? That would in turn copy the title over to the pln2o NAND and launch?

Sounds easier to just launch neek2o channel and use postloader from there lol, isn't the compatibility 100% in neek2o just like *neek?

the first disc, 2 the next... In general the first disc folder is 6 digit code and the next one 7...
OK so I did it with Tales of Symphonia which is GQSEAF. The first folder is GQSEAF and the second folder is GQSEAF2. When I went back into postloader and rebuilt game cache only the second disc (GQSEAF2) is available, the first is nowwhere to be seen.

This is a non-sense. Are you sure that the game.iso in the first disc is ok ?
it was there before i changed the name of the folders.....so I am not sure
Before it was GQSEAF for Disc 1 and GQSEA1 for Disc 2.....and both discs were there....now they are not.
I figured it out. If the Title ID is GQSEAF and it is 2 discs, the first Disc has to be GQSEAF1 and the second disc has to be GQSEAF2....so they both have to have a corresponding number for the disc it is.

This shouldn't be required. That game is both on sd and usb ?

right now Stfour, the game is only on usb

Thank you for the info. I will try tonight the same setup...

@MassiveRican: vataloco is right, there is a typo in the readmii.

As the 90% of ww/vc are working with waninkoko nand emulation, this "option" is to allow the remaining titles to be executed easily from the real nand.

If I’m only using 1 emunand, what should my usb folder structure look like? Currently it’s copied to the root of my usb but I also have an empty usb/nands directory (not sure if it’s needed).
When I launch my real nand (priildr –priibtr – pl3), I try launching the neek2o channel from pl3 but I end up getting a flashing console. When I explore the usb after my attempt to launch neek2o, I see that part of my emunand has been copied to usb/nands. What exactly is going on with the file copying, should this be happening if I'm only using one emunand? Should I have any of these directories named something specific?

Also, do I need to rename the sd/bootmiineek folder to bootmii or is it supposed to stay that way?

I want to take advantage of all the benifits of pl3/neek2o but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Thanks in advance

Can i somehow use neek2o mode as default when launching titles from usb nand, instead of changing every single game i want to play? This boots fast enough for me and is working very well. :D

You don't need to. Most titles launch fine with normal booter. If neek2o is used lots of space will be wasted in copying titles on you usb nand.
I just use neek2o for about 6 titles that have issues with regular booting.

No copying is done if your default nand is named pln2o. I have problems loading any game with nand emulation while neek2o mode works perfectly, and the loading times with uid.sys removed is quite fast, so I don't bother.

You could consider a full neek2o setup, and just install your channels on emulated nand. Within a few revisions, the feature will come out (hopefully) to show and hide channels upon choice to the neek2o system menu. This will make you benefit from both quick launch time and maximum compatibility.
@[member='AbdallahTerro']
I am afraid you won't be able to hide the disc channel that way.

But...doesn't emulated nand already have maximum compatability? Maybe it's one or two seconds faster when loading a wiiware/VC from the real nand instead of the emulated one, but it's probably only noticeable if you time things.

I honestly cannot think why not more people are doing full neek2o setups (well: aside from not knowing how to do things, that is). Postloader boots just about everything and creating/restoring backups is a breeze (just copy-paste the \nands folder to a backup drive every so often).

Hmm...I found an issue, but I'm not very sure if it's intentional.

In DML, the NTSC game 'Phantasy Star online episode 1 & 2 plus' (GPOE8P) doesn't display in the list amongst the other games; it shows fine in neogamma, though.

I ask if it's intentional because this game is known to black screen upon boot (tested). Obviously, until that's resolved, it doesn't matter...but should it do that? Or could it be something else? (e.g. the ampersand in the name screwing things up).

+1, neek2o for me works just as good as real nand, if not better, all the wiiware an vc games i have work/boot just fine, though i had to change some of the start up iso. (you can do this in show mii wads).. even liight works great an i know this was a problematic game when it first came out.(last year).
@[member='AbdallahTerro'], have you tried that method with showmii wads?.. just make a back up of the wads first, that way if some thing goes wrong you'll have it.

According to stfour his way of booting neek2o made copies wad content to pln2o Nand. I use showmiiwads all the time.
