With Darkcorp you can play it with cfg loader in wbfs formatet partition from usb

wtf? cfg loader uses a cios, darkcorp modifies other IOSs not used by cfg loader... so darkcorp should not have any affect whatsoever on whether cfg loader can play PoP off of a WBFS partition. Of course having darkcorp installed would not prohibit you from playing it via a USB Loader with the proper settings.

I tested patching the main.dol swapping the strings (so that sdhc becomes hcsd and so on)
Cios Rev19, Cfg V53... No problem at the starting intro, gameplay loading a save and home menu... all until opening a chest... Then it freezes...

ps: works fine through my d2c pro (d2ckey clone) chip & cios rev9 installed into 250 and using an old loader (such as wanin's 1.6 loader)

Well actually I tested replacing above half of the strings which I thought applies to waninkoko's cios... Now changed all, and will test it that way...

That djinn_bin_wii.bf file by the way seems to be an enclosure for another dvd filesystem and it's large... It's not a simple binary, though it's of course a possibility that the check is there...

Well nothing, it plays normally on hermes rev4 (ios 222)ciosX rev19 with cfg usb loader

I haven't tested thoroughly though...

Thanks a lot WiiCrazy (and everyone else who helped)!!. Just to clarify, after patching it, u could run it using the most recent release of cfg loader and without any special settings (like anti-002)

When I get home I'll try patching it and testing it with a bunch of different cIOSs!

It's funny, I'm more motivated to play this game because of circumventing the protection, lol

Well I haven't thoroughly tested actually... it could be missing something... How far one was going with hermes of ciosXrev19 with cfg usb loader?

ps: tested once again, started the game... created a new profile... played till the crumbling part... pressed home.... goto menu... no freezes... my other test was around 1:00, opened a chest in the nearby platform which was freezing with the missing patches... then I just got bored of the game

Yikes...just opened the main.dol in hxd and nothing matched and then i realised i had the PAL version =/

i had the pal verision and it matched

@wiicrazy it crashes when you open a chest, delete a profile, press the home button, and during the second battle.

maybe you should post a screenshot of the PAL main.dol open in a hex editor... if WiiCrazy figured out the changes for the NTSC version, he could probably also do it for the PAL version (although maybe wait until the ntsc patch is confirmed as working)

edit: nvm, just saw farcry's post... now i don't know what/who to believe, lol
