Hacking Psp downgrade to 6.20

if i buy a psp 1000, would i be able to downgrade to 6.20?? (even if it hasnt had a 6.20 ofw before?)

Yup.

PSP 1000 has been discontinued so you won't find one of these fancy motherboards that are in the 3000 right now.

It can downgrade to 6.20 if it's had 6.20 or below.

Considering how old the 1000 series is, every 1000 comes with something way less.
