Sheesh, what's with the face-palming? How is it any different than replacing the batteries on an iPod?

"Unofficially" is the legal keyword here, people. Riddle me this: Is there a way to make it so that the battery isn't removable at all? If you could take something apart, you'll most likely can take out the battery regardless of how tied down it is.

Im impressed sony! John koller is soooo gonna come out and say: ''Dont worry, we thought of that.
You see, its a really sticky sticker so they cant get it off. And we have gone even further to make sure pirates are put in the right place. If anyone manages to get the sticker off, it will stick to THEM.
As soon as they are seen in public, we'll take it from there.''

But seriously, thats pretty darn sad.

@noammax
It was just commercial crap. All they want to is to get money from battery replacing, just like Apple already does. Well SCE knew that jigkick batteries do not work anymore with recent PSP motherboards anyway.

Could someone explain why this is a facepalm type moment?

So?
Just because we found out that the battery IS Removable doest mean we have to facepalm about it.
We should be happy the fact we may have a chance to hack this thing.

It's because all they did was PUT A STICKER ON IT.

Not only that but it's a kind of sticker you can put back on.

That's double fail there.

Has it even been confirmed its those stickers that doesn't peel off half the sticker? There's been stickers that look like its one layer which fucks up people in the end.

well well well now
Sony hasn't been the brightest company
losing money with the ps3
making all three series of psp hackable (100020003000)
and now this, "you can't remove the battery from the psp-go"
how sad is it that they actually say such things when in actuality the psp-go uses a sticker
oi, how really sad
and btw, are we sure that the psp-go will be hackable with the access to the battery?
after all, psp-go is a newer handheld console, rather than a psp 4000 kinda thing

evrything is hackable including the ps3... its just tht ppl dont actually know exactly how to do so
Is this good or bad news to DarkAlex

True.It just gets too complicated for people who have no experience in programming.

:yaypiracy:
Even if you put the sticker back, any person can find out.
Because when you remove it the dust particles will naturaly get stuck to it.
