Weird. Nintendo checks the exterior for water damage too? How would they even know?Probably just for wiping gunk off of the screens. My screens get very dirty very fast so I often use Lysol wipes to clean them off.
...Rusting, maybe? I'm not sure.Weird. Nintendo checks the exterior for water damage too? How would they even know?
just swap the serial and the cover shell.......
Bottom line they look in the firmware for the serial number; it's stored internally.
It depends on the employee who will go over the returns too. Make sure you are ready to face consequences if you do get caught though. Doing that is considered retail theft/return fraud. You're talking about retailers, right?

Do you have another battery for testing?@BrianXP7
It looked for me like a battery problem, the resetted date, without any reasson (insufficient voltage?) ... And the console didnt kernelpanic during NAND restore because... D9 wont do that?
Its just a theory...
Also, although checking the serial number through software is an option, as there's is another serial sticker behind the cover, which the cover itself won't be hard and takes a few seconds to take off.It was meant more like "if they [Nintendo] really think something is off, whether the serial number is scratched off or the sticker is off or whatever, they have the option to look at it internally." I don't have any firsthand experience with their process, but I have no doubt they have the means to look inside the guts of the hardware and software.
^This. Better to be safe than to be sorry.
It's actually very unlikely, 11.0 is too new.Crap, they already shipped my console back... I guess I'll just order another one when I get a job.
In other news, that Monster Hunter Generations edition New 3DS XL is looking pretty good but there's the chance of it already being updated to 11.0.
