Firstly, I'll add that, for some unknown reason, EA doesn't encode any of the MySims games in the standard formats other Wii games use.
Logically, you'd expect things like BRSTMs or SZS or even BRRES, but no, none of them exist in the code.
Instead, I've noticed the following:
-Movies / Cutscenes: THP
-Text: STR
-Streams (sound maybe? IDK): STRM
-Shaders: SHADER
-Vaults (?): VLT
-Literally everything else, including textures, meshes, worlds, code, etc: PACKAGE

I have no clue what THP or STR do or how to edit them, but PACKAGE files are what EA uses for mainline sims games from The Sims 2 and on.
So, I expected to be able to edit the files in SimPE (from TS2's era, as MSA was released in 2009.) Unfortunately, it threw an error saying it can't open SPORE packages, does anyone know what I may be able to do? I'd like to work on a full-on ROM hack for it, complete with edited dialogue, retextures, a PG-13 or M rating, fixing the art for closed cases, and a change in the story if possible, but considering how ambitious this is, if I do manage to jury-rig something together, it may not get as I want it.
Does anyone know what to do?

Is there a way to actually view the files inside? It displays a hex, but not the audio, textures, or models in the package, maybe I'll figure it out
the hex represents where in the .package the file is located, the file extensions are accurate
supposedly once the Vault files are loaded (found in the rom) the filenames are accuratly displayed which is what im trying to figure out rn
it also lets you convert rmdl and mdl to obj model files.

for viewing the tpl's i recommend you use BrawlBox

and im still trying to open the str files properly

Thank you!
Edit: By the way, is it possible to add the textures/tpls back into the package once edited?

Sorry for double-posting, but I redid Ray's eyes!

They're in the thumbnails now, but I still haven't figured out reinserting images into packages, unfortunately.
