Hacking [Question] Hacking my 2ds will delete saved data?

I am planning on hacking my 2ds using the frogminer method and I would like to know if the saved data of my pre-installed games (Mario Kart 7) will be deleted in the process because I have read in the 3ds hack guide that "This process will overwrite your game’s save file!". Should I use ntrboot instead or are my saves safe?

It's a bit of a chance, but not nearly as certain and widespread as Switch modding. Personally, I've modded 3 3DS consoles, all of which have online access and none have been banned, but people have been banned occasionally.
