ok so i ordered a Supercard DSTWO from RealHotStuff the other Day and i began my small little collection of roms but there are a few that are in Japanese Mainly the Tales of series, Gamecenter Cx 2 and Jump Ultimate Stars that received a English patch and was wondering do any of them have trouble running on the super card and if i trimmed the rom first will it have any problems running or applying the translation patch. My other Question is Which one has better compatibility? From what i read Clean mode has better compatibility then Patched but how much of a difference it there between them.

I do have the Jump Ultimate Stars rom on my DSTWO which has the English translation patch on it (My JUS English Patch Rom was meant to work with the DSTT but it works with my DSTWO) don't know about any other DS games that could work on the DSTWO with an English Translation though.

You'll want to trim the rom after patching it, not before, or the patch might fail. The dstwo should have no problems running the games though.

thanks for telling me that but are there going to be any ill effects of triming after patching that might affect the game or the translation it's self?

If you trim the game after it's patched, you may screw up some of the content that was patched, so yes, there will be ill effects that could affect the game/translation

ahh of so i guess patched games will go untrimed thanks for the info
Quite a few patches will actually trim the game for you. I've had no problems trimming games after patching them though. It should only trim blank data at the end of the file so if actual translation data is placed there it would be untouched. You can always put an untrimmed copy on there later if the trimmed one doesn't work.

Clean mode is only for games that don't work in patched mode as you will lose all the advanced DSTwo features while using it. Basically, clean mode is just there as a backup until the DSTwo software can be updated to support new games (mostly because of new copy protection), which you don't have to worry about as I don't think there are any new DS games coming out.

Thanks both of you for clarifying my questions you've been a great help in me understanding the dstwo.

Ok, looks like I was partially wrong as there is one new DS game coming out called Disney Big Hero 6. But unless you are planning on playing that one you shouldn't have to worry about clean mode.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
