When I enter "Edit software library" and then hit 2xB to leave without changes and then "any key", the tool crashes to the main menu.
I think it should reboot at that point but even pressing START at "any key" crashes the tool to main menu.
O3DS 11.4E B9S

A little wish from me: I use Cthulhu regularly since the ban wave just to clear activity log and software library before online activities.
It would be great to have a somewhat reduced Cthuluhu that only does this cleaning and the reboot without the need of any interaction.
Just start the tool and it automatically cleans and reboots.
Perhaps with an additional text file to further specify what to clean (activitylog or/and library etc.) if that is wanted.

I second to this.

Red ones are hidden on activity log.
Titles without name are either blank entries or their cache is missing (not really an issue).
Thanks! I found out i can manually change the colour too. Setting all my CFW cias to red will not allow them to show up on the activity log yes?

How do you exactly make backups of PTM savefile? Also I tried accessing it from homebrew but ony got black top screen and red bottom screen.
I use JKSM. You can find it in the system titles menu > activity log

Okay, I'm looking to delete any...unauthorized entries from my Software Library. However, I'm lost as to what the entries which have no name next to them mean. For example, FBI has just the one hex(?) string next to it, but then Cthulhu itself has six entries with no names underneath the one beside its name (the latter being the only one in green). What are these entries, and what should I do with them if I'm clearing house?
EDIT: Seems those're NDS game carts? But why won't they show names? Can that be done?

Further, it was only through browsing this thread I saw what the controls and colors were; could those be added to the GitHub readme?

Its a nice tool and works like expected. The documentation is somewhat lacking and you need to read this thread to understand how it actually works (eg. color codes, or pressing y to toggle or x to delete).
Will there be ANY chance that we can delete specific software in the activiy log itself? Cause if a game is deleted from the software libary and then started again, it checks the activity log for all entrys of that game in the log and restores all data, right?
I want to keep history for some games and don't want log some things like FBI... (Cause Im scared about the next ban wave :D)

No, it doesn't access the data that stores that (PTM save game).

If I'm not mistaken you can remove any title from the log using Cthulhu, and the activity log doesn't store it anymore? I do the same and it just doesn't reappear unless I reopen the log. So doesn't that mean it accesses the PTM save file?

Edit: Nvm, misunderstood the question.

Well, from what I saw when using Cthulhu, if you delete a single entry using it, then it's gone forever as intended. When you start the game again, it will be readded obviously, but it will show up as a completely new entry, with only one time the title was launched.
As in, let's say you delete FBI from the log, then launch it and run it for 2 hours, it will appear in activity log as being launched once with 2 hours playtime.

That doesn't work. When you open the app again all the info comes back including when and for how long you played it. That info is stored in the PTM save file which isn't touched by this app. I tried deleting System Settings from activity log (apparently I play it 24 hours a day 7 days a week, ever since I system transferred a Gateway console to my a9lh console...) but I couldn't make it go away.

I removed FBI and Cthulhu itself from it. After that I launched them and they appeared with only one launch and a minute of playtime (as I didn't keep them open)

What options do you pick? Under Activity Log Management, there is
  • Clear play history
  • Clear step history
  • Clear software library
  • Edit software library
Under edit software library, I can edit System Settings, it shows traces of where I tried to edit it before (number of times played is down to 7) but I can't clear the data for it.

Been trying to restore entries, but whether I make them green or yellow, they don't appear back in the Activity Log after I launch that. If it's worth anything, most, if not all, of them are NDS games.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
