Alright I figured it out, I updated the download link in the original post incorrectly, I thought it was pointing to the 1.2 release .zip but was still pointing to the 1.0 .zip. I'll just have it point to the general release page instead of the latest .zip to fix this issue. And @DocAmes1980, thanks again for pointing this out. :)

@pwsincd Would you please update the link in your appstore to point to the release page too?
all done 8BitWonder , thanks for letting me know..

New version 1.4.0 has been pushed!

Changes:
  • Added toggle-able fast moving cursor with Y
  • Added a clear drawing area option with Minus
If I get the time today I'll work on larger brush sizes. In the mean-time, have fun drawing. ;)

did you do something special for displaying the icon?
In my project the icon is not displayed.
I initially had problems with it too. Make sure you designate the icon parameters in the makefile, and that the icon is a jpeg. I did both of these and it still didn't load properly when exported from photoshop, so I opened it in Microsoft paint and exported as a jpeg from there.
The HBMenu itself uses nanojpeg for the images, and I found this live-demo site where you can test your icon: http://evanw.github.io/skew-nanojpeg/

If your icon loads/displays on that demo-site, then it should correctly work on the HBMenu. (Again, you must set it to use the icon in the makefile)

Also as a side note: I haven't forgotten about this project, I'm actually working on scalable brush sizes as we speak. Might be out today or tomorrow.

New version v1.5.0 has been pushed!

Changes:
  • Added more brush sizes, 1x1-4x4
  • Switch between brush sizes with ZL/ZR
  • Refactoring/minor tweaks from minor builds v1.4.1 and v1.4.2
At this point in time there's only one other feature I'm thinking about adding, though I would say Pixel-Painter is somewhat complete without it. I'll take a look at adding it if I get more free-time, but for now consider this the "finished" version. If you encounter any bugs please let me know. (Or other features you would be interested in)

As always have fun drawing, if you make anything cool and want to post it feel free to do so in this thread. :)

@pwsincd Would you kindly update the appstore?

New version v1.6.0 has just been put up.
Apparently it's been broken for a while and I didn't know. Woops.

Changes:
  • Fixed the application so it works as intended (UI is now a bit larger too)
Planned:
  • General refactoring, coming back to this it looks pretty bad
As mentioned above I do plan to do a bit of refactoring now that I see some spots that could use it.
Besides fixing the application so it operates correctly that might be the last update I make on this project.
(Unless of course it breaks again, then I'll try to fix it)

@pwsincd Would you please update the appstore page for this?

New version v1.7.0 has just been released.
This will likely be the final update to this homebrew, as I have some other more interesting ideas to tackle. ;)

Changes:
  • Made it so that controls will only be handled when a button is actually pressed (should have done this from the start)

As mentioned above, this will likely be the final release. Unless pixel-painter is broken again and needs fixing, v1.7.0 should be considered the final release.
It's been fun putting this together, feel free to still put up any cool images you make with it. :)

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
