well.. didn't the FIRST game just come out a few months ago? and the third game is developed in Japanese right?
I think the second game out in Japan before the first English one.

You can request it, but unless it actually already is translated, I don't think anyone would bother with it now.

Seriously, they don't even have to confirm the sequel for the US. It's definitely going to get translated.

yup they are right.. just wait a bit dude.. Layton and the Village came out in JPN longgggggggggggggggg before we got it in english... take a look at the wonderful world translation... had the game translated and then boom, EU and US releases... pasensiya pare.

It is coming shortly to the West ... even the 3rd Layton game, the Last Time Traveller is coming to the West, and that one has not even had it's Japanese release yet ...
