"Resident Evil: Death Island", a new CGI movie following the game's story, teases the return of Jill Valentine
Capcom is back once again with the main series of CGI movies for Resident Evil with the new entry, "Resident Evil: Death Island".
The CGI movies of Resident Evil are set in the actual canon of the videogames, continuing with the timeline of the original characters like Leon and Chris from the games, instead of being a reimagining or a readaptation of the franchise like what Anderson did with the Milla Jovovich-centric live-action films.
The teaser trailer centers in what seems to be a prison island setting, with Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy returning as protagonists, with the new and first inclusion to the CGI movies being Jill Valentine, after several years since her storyline appearance back in RE5, which takes place in 2009 in-game. The synopsis of the movie goes as follows:
Synopsis said:D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.
