Yeah, you're better off playing Sega CD games in Picodrive especially with the CIA version due to the speed boost from dynarec access. :)

The screen tearing issue in Gen Plus GX has been there for a while now...I think the last versions that didn't have that issue were waaaaay back in late November/early December 2015, and those aren't up any more. :(

Can't emulate Mechwarrior 3050 (USA) SNES, tried both SNES9X NEXT and CatSFC Plus, black screen after Activision logo, both are 1.3.3

Also SNES Earthworm Jim 2 freeze on SEGA loading screen.

I can't get retroarch to work AT ALL for some reason. .3dsx freezes the system on a black screen, and .cia just closes back to home menu as soon as I open it. I've tried a fresh install multiple times, but it still won't work. Any suggestions?

Ya, seems certain emulators of Retroarch are better depending on the game.

I can get the new Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War (project Naga translation) working perfectly in CATSFC, but not CATSFC+ or PocketSNES or snes9x. Yet when it comes to the special chip games (Mario RPG or Yoshi's Island) only PocketSNES runs them well.

And for GBA, I've found gpsp is the only one that really works well. Although my Fire Emblem Binding Blade v1.0 translation seems to stutter on enemy turns and even during the attack animations. Maybe it's the patch but, it's a real shame. The other 2 GBA Fire Emblem games run flawlessly.

Yeah, you're better off playing Sega CD games in Picodrive especially with the CIA version due to the speed boost from dynarec access. :)

The dynarec is only for 32X and that Virtua Racer Genesis game, it has no effect for Sega CD or plain Genesis.

It's true Picodrive is overall faster than GPGX though but if both are running Sega CD games at 60 fps on N3DS, you are better with the latter because of its better compatibility/accuracy, especially with the sound.

The screen tearing issue in Gen Plus GX has been there for a while now...I think the last versions that didn't have that issue were waaaaay back in late November/early December 2015, and those aren't up any more. :(

Have you tried enabling the borders in GPGX core settings? I think this fixed some screen issues on 3DS for me.

Not sure if this has been posted before. 200+ pages is quite a bit to sift through.

I'm running into an issue with PicoDrive with regards to MegaCD RAM cart emulation. Every time I load a Sega CD game, the emulated RAM cartridge needs to be initialized. This defeats the purpose of emulating one in the first place, if it has to be formatted every time I open the emulator.

I'm running the 1.3.3 CIA version on a N3DS.

Got RetroArch running. Screwing around with PocketSNES right now. Amazing to see working Yoshi's Island, Kirby Superstar, Mario RPG, even if it comes at a slight audio sacrifice. Only a couple SNES roms have bugged out on me so far. Star Ocean was all fuzzy weirdness, and Tactics Ogre had a huge problem with controls.

11 of the 15 CPS1 roms I tried worked great, the other 4 didn't load at all and made me shut the 3DS off. Guess it was a parent/child thing. edit - another froze on me while playing.

Taking off the plate to get to the SD card is a cocking nightmare. Hits the 'on' switch EVERY time.

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.

I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length

All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

On the go tho I meant, I use my 10" tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes. Easier on my eyes than the Switch screen.

My point is we already have enough shit with big displays having something pocketable with up to ps2 would be fine on the go

Ken unless the games are made for that screen size most suck on a screen that size... Having a square screen and being brighter and higher res helps but it's not a cure all, text is tiny bullets are tiny, your.... Well lol
