Could the new 800px wide resolution mode be implemented on this?
Mednafen PCE Fast doesn't appear to correctly set the aspect ratio, while Integer Scale is broken in Picodrive. IIRC, both have been broken for quite some time...
The New 3DS XL barely has more horsepower than the PSP. The device doing the emulating needs to be a few times more powerful than the one it is emulating for full speed. You might be able to get 5 FPS at best as a proof of concept but that’s it.Can PPSSPP core run decent on New3DSXL?
People both seriously over estimate the psp and underestimate the N3DS. I agree that a PSP emu is out of the question but it’s very substantially more powerfulThe New 3DS XL barely has more horsepower than the PSP. Nothing, neither official nor homebrew, supports this.People both seriously over estimate the psp and underestimate the N3DS. I agree that a PSP emu is out of the question but it’s very substantially more powerful
Bruh were you dropped on the head as a kid or whatNothing, neither official nor homebrew, supports this.
Damn near every 16-bit and up emulator runs substantially worse on New 3DS than they did in 2005 on PSP. None of the games on New 3DS have substantially better visuals, substantially larger worlds, or substantially better frame rates than the ones on PSP. You can cry about it and throw insults all you want, but it won’t change that.Bruh were you dropped on the head as a kid or what

Revelations used pre-rendered cut scenes, and while in game does look quite nice it's still not anything I would consider "substantially" better. I wouldn't say it looks better than Type-0 or Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. I would also point to Type-0 for larger worlds. There just isn't anything to support the idea that the New 3DS is "substantially" more powerful than the PSP. Not in the specs and not in the results. That doesn't mean it isn't more powerful, it just means that the "substantial" claim is unfounded. I think a lot of people see one or two areas where one machine out-specs another and assume that means it's more powerful when that's not the case. Like the WiiU. Better GPU and more ram than PS3 and 360, but a far worse CPU means it's gonna have a hell of a time getting the same performance on most games. Bottlenecks are a real thing, and these machines are only as good as their weakest components as the games themselves show.On the “substantially better visuals” front, I’d argue that Resident Evil Revelation has better visuals than any PSP games that I know (perhaps bar fighting games since they always have better-looking character models due to genre).
On the “substantially larger worlds” front, I’d be tempted to say Xenoblade Chronicles, but I’m not entirely sure since larger worlds sometimes just mean larger ISOs.
The latest stable, which should be 1.8.9, not 6 as you wrote.Quick question, do I want to install the stable version (1.8.6) or the latest nightly version if I want to try the PSX emulator? The version I have is a couple years old, and I want to see how much the improvements since then have helped.
Going a bit nuts here, I’m getting audio distortion with SNES9x 2005 Plus on 1.8.8. It’s pretty slight but I can’t seem to get rid of it. Changed audio latency, all resampling settings, synchronization, none of it makes a difference. It almost sounds as if the audio is clipping slightly, but when I lower the output dB it certainly gets quieter but doesn’t actually help with the distortion. Any ideas?
