Hey

I have run into an issue. I am unable to start the web browser while playing a game. I know that this issue was fixed with firmware at some point (I think 2.0). However, I am on 3.60 and use HENKAKU and am still unable to open the browser. I have even tried the live tweet method and that didn't work.

I have attempted this with and without HENKAKU.

Some other history that happened prior to me noticing this issue. I initially had a 64 gb memory card but it died. I tried to recover the memory card any way that I could, but to no avail. I also ran into several issues while trying to do this. I ran into the C2-12828 error when trying to format the card, with and without HENKAKU, and sometimes the ps vita would sometimes freeze. I also found it somewhat difficult to get to the recovery menu. I switched back to my 16gb card and everything is going smooth except for this issue. I also haven't attempted to format the card again.

That aside, I am wondering if there is any fix for this issue or if I'm the only one experiencing it? I also want to know if my vita needs to be restored?

Any advice would be appreciated.

really sounds like you have no choice.. dont give up on your 64 gig mem card tho mine died and i followed a guide that made it work again.. over a year ago still no issues all i can remember it was on the official PlayStation forum .. but i recall having to power off my vita take out card .. push my card back in and hold it in hard until boot up then when u see its working do a safe rebuild still holding the in hard.. there was a few other things i have forgotten .. but i also cleaned my card and vita pins with rubbing alcohol..r since then i never leave my vita in standby mode EVER .. ALWAYS TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY .. and like i said no issues at all since....

Thanks for the reply. Well that's gonna suck to system restore.

I do have a question about that though. Since I'm on Henkaku, after restoring the vita, will the vita ask for an update or should I just turn WiFi off in case?

On the memory card, I'll take your advice on that. I haven't tried hold it in while booting up yet.

You could try a firmware restore....

That fixes most weird things.

---Caution this is pretty technical compared to most homebrew---

Set your DNS to the henkaku one (henkaku.xyz/usage)

Once you have deffo set the WiFi DNS to henkaku updater....

Open henkaku settings. Set the Spoof to 3.59.

Reset the vita to make it stick.

Then go settings -- update -- update via WiFi.

Make sure that the update file says 3.60 (some Japanese text) compatibile.

Then Allow it to update.

This should give you a nice 3.60 install. Then you can run the browser to install henkaku 9.

That might cure your problems.

I got mine to work. I'll tell you step by step.------
1) Make sure the Vita is completely turn off.
2) Take out the memory card, if you haven't done so already.
3) Push the memory card back in all the way in and don't let go of it.
4) turn the Vita on.
5)A screen should pop up saying "updating database"after the warning screen and just wait until its done.
6) Once its done updating, let go of the memory card.

*****Try downloading something if it's a new memory card so that you know it works
*****Also you can do it on the home page screen. Just reinsert the memory card and hold it and press yes to restart and then you should just follow step 5 and 6.
*****You will have to do this every time you switch to this memory card if the Vita didn't detect it.

If it doesn't work just repeat the steps

That sounds interesting. I could give it a try. Is there an official guide on it?

No guide, but you can mixxy blob some how to videos.

I.e FW 3.55 to 3.60 update using henkaku dns update

The only difference is that you are using molecules Spoof setting to make the vita think 3.6 is the newest firmware.

It used to be in the molecule bubble but has now moved to henkaku settings in the main settings bubble

That is great. I'll try this guide and see if I can jump start my card back to life.

I have a question. I google around and found the vpk 3.60 firmware re-installer. Is this essentially the same thing just accomplished through different means?

Cool! And an update on the memory card. I got it to work!! Thanks a million!
Hey hey great man I'm stoked it all worked out for you!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Last thing I would recommend is do not use standby mode always turn your Vita Off when not playing.. It's what I've been doing for a least 2 years.. I think it helps keep the memory card safe
