Homebrew Discussion "signing homebrew payloads to work on newer switch units.

First of all I was just wondering if on the newer switch units, payloads can only work properly if they are either signed by nintendo or tegra. If this is the case would it be possible to falsely sign payloads so that the protection software on the tegra chip thinks it is a legitimate payload? I would not be able to do this myself because I am not a coder but it would be really nice if it could be done.

It will take millions of years to brute force a 2048 bit key. If you want to sign your own payloads become an engineer, learn Japanese, get a job at Nintendo and leak the keys.

Edit: if I remember correctly we can sign PS3 firmware and install it on consoles at or below firmware 3.55. Maybe there is a way to retrieve the key but we don't have such a method available to us at this stage and probably never will.

If properly implemented "fake signing" doesn't work. You can use all the computing power of the world and you will still not be able to do this before your death.
