Dsi XL seems way too overrated In my honest opinion. Nintendo made the stupid decision of releasing the dsi and its newer counterpart the XL, not even a year after the latter was released (or maybe they did but it still was way too short of a time gap)
I heard he XL makes game's resolution a bit stretched because of the bigger screens anyway
Hearsay about something you can see with your eyes.. hmm.
I'm going to have to disagree there. I haven't seen any distortion and I've had played tons of my games on my XL which I've owned and used daily since March 28. I am also an amateur Acekard theme designer, and being very self critical I have noticed details on my XL I would never have noticed on my Lite which helped me make final alignment adjustments on calendar/clock elements, etc.
Ultimately, the screens look good and I love my XL.
I also think the timing was right. I wouldn't have spent my money on Nintendo's product if I hadn't found out about it in February- I would have migrated to a PSP as I had been planning to for some time. Though that's fairly subjective, I also consider the fact that more adults who weren't previously gamers, especially adult women, are becoming interested in gadgets like this which previously weren't considered fashionable. Though I've always been into games, my mother has only one Tekken 3 match vs me under her belt but now I see her fiddling with her iPhone all the time, taking/viewing pictures, playing puzzle games, and texting. I see the XL as a product that is bridging the gap between the functions of a portable game system and all-in-one devices, but not neglecting the primary function of entertainment.
