Fun little game. Never heard of it till the Switch scene. Full screen is, actually, ok as long as it's started off like that and not switched to mid-game.

I'm on 17.0.0 AMS 1.6.2 .. does this work anymore on current firmwares?
I just installed it and it still does!

If you install from the HB App Store though (I like did), you should download the files from GitHub and install it manually to your SD card.

It's actually a known issue in the HB App Store that the data files are not properly downloaded to the point where it thinks that the map directory is empty with
Code:
ERROR: Empty map directory!
even though the map files are seemingly intact.

I got the solution from this post:
https://github.com/retronx-team/supermariowar-nx/issues/5

Thanks for the help. I will try that out. It is true, I have found that the Homebrew App doesn't properly extract things. I've had to correct about 2 or 3 games because of that. Super Mario war seemed pretty stand alone so I didn't think to try that. Usually the issues are getting "data" files from an original game in the right place.

Thanks for your useless response.
You're welcome mate. Good thing there's somebody who actually tried this specific game and was able to answer you because I assure you it's not always the case and if he wasn't there nobody could have told you anything given how little you've said explaining what was the issue (not only that, it's pretty common to have people asking if something's crashing or not after FW updates and we can't know until somebody tries and says it). Glad it's moving forward for you

No problem.. I understand the irritation with those type of non-specific inquires. I could have said.. this doesn't work for FW 17.0.0 AMS 1.6.2 does anyone know if it has been fixed. Or something like that.

I'll try to be more specific in future inquires.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
