At the tail end of the Direct, Nintendo dropped that Super Smash Bros is coming to the Switch. Nothing more than a slight teaser was shown, with Splatoon characters. The game will launch this year.

Glad it's not a port, something fresh is always good, and the font/logo are not the same as Wii U's.

Honestly curious as to whether this is going to be a full-out sequel, or an enhanced port with new characters a la Street Fighter.

Don't get your hopes up that much, boys.
It's a port of the Wii U version, but with some characters thrown in to add to the flare.
Splatoon chars and perhaps BotW Link.

If you really think Nintendo would release a SSB game from scratch for the Switch, you are giving them too much credit. xD
