Hacking Supercard DSONEi Anti Piracy patches etc

I have been a way from the Nintendo DS scene for a while, but I have just purchased myself a DSi XL and have a Supercard DSONEi on order (should be with me either today or tomorrow). What is the crack with Anti Piracy on the Supercard at the moment.

I have scene a lot of new games being released where people have been having trouble getting them to work (on all cards, not just supercard) and various patches being released. But then looking at the supercard forum, they seem to offer a ds1patch file that can be put on the Supercard. Does this auto patch the ROMS when you run them on the card, bypassing the need to have them patched before hand. Also, is there just one patch file does all games up to a point, or are there different patch files for different games.
