Ive been having a problem with my computer not receiving a signal for my switch in recovery mode.

EDIT: Found out some USB-C cords will be charge only and some will transfer files.

question: If I am on 3.0.2 (Notice the two at the end of the number) does that mean I can use 3.0.0 hacks? (For instance HBlauncher?)

Any update generally means something is patched, they do those minor numbers for minor updates. so HBL can't be triggered the same way as 3.0.0 can on 3.0.2

What do I need to do in order to prevent my switch from updating?

https://switch.hacks.guide/blocking-updates

I'm having an issue with my Switch whenever it's in sleep mode, I can't get it to reopen CFW. The only thing that works to boot it at all is the remove everything, hold down power, vol + and vol - for a few seconds and then power on to OFW, which makes using CFW basically unfeasible. I'm on 5.0.2. Anyone else having this issue?

Simple noob question:

I’ve recently been able to use HaKaTe to boot CFW and go to hbl on my 5.0.2 Switch. It works well, and so far I’ve only tested pFBA which works great.

Ive noticed that if I’m in CFW, none of my usual games software work, neither cards or downloads, it just hangs on the black screen with the spinning Nintendo Switch logo in the bottom right. Things work after a reboot. Is this normal behaviour?

I know that this has been asked before but I’m going to Walmart on Tuesday or Wednesday next week when I get paid and I was wondering if the firmware they have is 4.1.0 or lower. Preferably I’m looking for 3.0.0 or lower but Ik that’s hard to find now.
I’ve been looking online but they are charging ridiculously high for a lower firmware.

Did you check your local used game shops? I have found a few in my local Game Stop that are running 3.0.0

Is there a way to format a 200gb card for use with a 4.0.1 firmware switch? or do I need to update..... if so what is the largest card I can use without updating?

edit: nevermind, got it working with a program called Rufus.

by using a paperclip and making contact with the pins could this in anyway damage the switch or the pins

The joycon rail connector is a low insertion force contact pad. Putting foreign objects in there is almost guaranteed to ruin it eventually. (My .02$)

Instead, I would add a 2 position slide switch to a right joycon, with the middle pin and one side pin soldered to some short lead wires, attached to the appropriate solder pads on the joycon PCB. Some hot glue and a tiny rectangular hole in the joycon shell, and you have a sexy new "homebrew enable" switch.

You can get small 2 position slide switches from adafruit or any number of electronics hobby supply sites. More involved than bending a paperclip, but if you end up ruining the joycon, it is at least cheaper than ruining the switch itself from jabbing foreign objects into the rail connector.

Aside from the fact the video is not loading, as long as the tin foil doesn't fall inside or be anywhere EXCEPT between pins 9 and 10, you will be fine. But that's a big if.

Actually no I haven’t I kinda figured that it would have something higher than 3.0.0 at my GameStop we physically can’t touch the boxes to check the serial numbers:(
But I do live in a very small town so maybe I could have a chance.

i was gonna tape the other part of the tinfoil to the back of the joycon so it doesnt fall anywhere

Why not they just mine Monero instead of scamming vulnerable people? If they have a decent machine they can hit a jackpot at any given time.

Bitcoin on the other hand, requires a very powerful mining rig and is more costly.

Technically, cryptocurrencies aren't illegal, as long as you don't use it for criminal activity. If you sign up with an exchange, and that they get a tip from law enforcement, they have the right to freeze your assets.

@SylverReZ, Yea I heard law is vastly different there

Nigeria's central bank did make crypto illegal before, until last year they lifted the ban. Always make sure to check before you exchange. ;)

@SylverReZ, speaking of crypto i remember reading about a guy who spend like 10 grand bitcoin on a couple pizzas (when bitcoin wasnt as worthy as nowadays)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's mental. If he had saved up when Bitcoin sky-rocketed in price, then he might've become the next Jeff Bezos for all I know.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, he couldnt know the price was gonna skyrocket anyway
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Then it dropped sometime in 2022, 2021 was when it really went up in price.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, I also recall watching a video of some failed games with their own crypto currency or smth like that, lemme link it to you (it's in spanish tho)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, I remember that. Didn't Steam ban games with NFTs before somehow devs managed to circumvent it? Think EA tried to dabble in NFTs too.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Glad to hear people realise that NFTs aren't worth it these days. They realise that they're JPEGs hosted on a file-hosting site like AWS or Google Drive.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Atleast it has captions
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Meta also tried to create their own crypto, but that fell through.

@SylverReZ, idk why facebook tried to do that metaverse thing if mmo games already existed before
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
And Yea I refuse to call it meta
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, I refuse to call it Meta, too. It's a stupid name.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, then why did you call it like that a minute ago?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I don't get why Facebook ever wanted to dabble into virtual reality, when other companies were doing it.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Just to emphasize on what I mean.
