Its going to crash because I'm guessing you didn't read the Usage before running the program? You have to dump your fuses and tsec keys before running the homebrew app which can be dumped in all versions of Hekate 4.X. If your firmware is 1.0-2.3, then you must dump boot0/boot1 in addition to package 1/2. Then use any CFW to launch the homebrew menu so you can use kezplez. Make sure the .NRO file is in a folder named /kezplez inside of the /switch folder.
i dumped the fuses and tsec keys im assuming they just arent in the right place?
this is what i look like in that folder....

Try without the .nacp file. You can also try deleting the keys.txt but that's optional. If you dumped the fuses and tsec keys already, just leave them where they were originally dumped.

You should be, yes. Different tools need differently named key files so pay attention to the naming and use the appropriate one. In case you aren't aware already, kezplez generates a prod.keys file on the root of the SD card as well as a keys.txt in the /kezplez folder. If a tool needs a keys.dat, rename the keys.txt to keys.dat. Also now that the creator of dOPUS has returned, you can use this arguably better .XCI installer now known as n1dus.

that's the exact one i plan to use. im gonna convert xci to nsp because they are faster to load. one last question, let'ss say my switch dies and someone unknowily boots t up in OFW and tries to launch one of my installed NSP's will it just not work of do i have to worry about a brick?

It'll give you a warning message that it needs to verify that you own the game but it won't brick the console if you accidentally try to launch it in OFW.

Yes, maybe also try using another CFW as well.

I have a switch that is on 5.02 but according to the serial it shipped with 4.01.

What will i need to do to get it hacked?

Firmware is irrelevant. You have to check whether the Switch is patched or not. Then if its unpatched, or you confirm its unpatched via the tutorial linked in the Serial Number thread, you can use the current exploit Fusee Gelee (entering RCM with a jig or equivalent then sending a payload via USB cable) to use any of the currently available CFW.
