folks this is what happens when you cold solder, and bridge your connections not even ground soldered
flux is important for this also a higher temp is anything under 320c and your gonna rip pads etc

admittedly sp1 and sp2 are passable

Just search AliExpress. I searched for "SX Lite" and the first post was a seller.

Just note they have to put odd language in the post. There's 3 options they're selling. The SX Core, SX Lite, and SX pro.

I'm using the 340-360 mark but my ts100 could do with a calibration

look ma no anchors

so do you have any ics of my install or are these pics of my install? i sent my yellow switch lite

also i thought you needed to solder the anchors or at least one to ground the chip i guess connecting them serves no electrical function at then?

Those are pics of an install in progress. Not yours..

to solve everyone questions about thermal paste. ditch the mx series for either a ic diamond graphite pad, or thermal grizzly thermal pads or thermal paste. best in the business.

It's a 10w chip. You're going overboard with what is needed to cool an X1. People can use what they have laying around or buy whatever is cheapest (as long as it's non conductive). Unless they are also PC enthusiast, then they already have 3 tubes of what they like already.

Yes, let me just slap some old crappy paste on my x1 and call it a day. Great solution you got there

It's guaranteed to be better than the stuff Nintendo uses that was bought in extreme bulk. Where there's actual profits to be had by using the cheapest stuff when selling millions of units.

People can buy and use whatever they want. But saying that you will have any difference at all depending on what you use is just misleading people. It's not a desktop cpu. Where you might have a 10-15° difference between the crappiest vs the best TIM, using the same cooler. Maybe as much as 20+° if the application was not done properly. I'm not arguing the point of buying quality thermal paste when you're using a high end over clocked system. Or running a cpu that naturally runs hot, like any of the 10th gen Intel chips.

But when you're talking about a mobile processor with a TJ max of 80°, that's clocked as low as Nintendo has it, the thermal interface material does not matter at all. The stock set up uses a single heat pipe that doesn't even directly touch the die. You're going to notice cooler temps by keeping the SoC shielding off, and mounting the heatpipe directly to the die than you ever will picking the best thermal paste.

Question for anyone who has one installed.

Is your battery draining faster, even while turned off? I'm assuming this is something related to the mod chip thats unavoidable but want to make sure lol

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
