Hey, I haven't posted here or the TC forums in a long while, but I've been following this pretty closely. I didn't get to go on the forum when it came back up, but I'm glad they even decided to post an update. They usually do, but as with this fiasco, wait for weeks before updating you on the current situation. I use my Cyclo sparingly nowadays, but I'm so grateful that TC built a great enough cart and a robust enough firmware that it can run almost all of the new games (save a few: LW and Pokemon B&W), both of which are now playable.
All I can say is just wait as long as you can for this firmware. Hopefully it'll be worth it, and if it doesn't come out or is buggy as hell, then the cracks for backups will be good enough. Like everyone has said before, the DS scene is about to die (maybe not the homebrew, but almost definitely the retail 'backup' scene). So, there's no real reason to get a new cart, unless you don't have a cart right now. Just wait for the DS to stagnate and enjoy the emulation.
